Call for mural artists!
The Friends of Blythe Hill Fields would like to commission an artist to work with young people to co-design and create a mural to transform the Montacute Road entrance to Blythe Hill Fields.
The chosen artist will work with the local community to develop artwork reflecting the beauty of the park and centred around themes of community and connection to nature.
We’re looking for someone who can:
Lead design day(s) with teenagers and adult volunteers, stimulating and guiding their creativity to develop ideas for the mural
Create a final design from ideas co-developed by participants on the design day(s)
Paint the mural in collaboration with teenage and adult volunteers, preparing the space and managing the allocated budget and timescale
The Friends of Blythe Hill Fields will support with engagement and planning.
The budget available for this commission is up to £5,000.

Examples of previous mural work and community engagement
Examples of project management skills and on-time completion of previous works.

Expressions of interest should be submitted in a word/pdf document of max. 1,000 words to chair@blythehillfields.org.uk by Sunday 25 October.
Three selected shortlisted artists will be given feedback from a community shortlisting panel. They will be asked to submit a more detailed application, in return for a fee of £250.
